I’m Supriya Ajmera.
I believe in using design to solve problems. Design is more than the pretty stuff that engages. It makes an experience memorable, desirable, and above all useful. Design is actually about the needs of real people.
I believe best designs come out of close collaboration and figuring things out together. I work iteratively and share what I know. I bring teams together to help them put people first and unite around a common understanding, goal, and inspiration. I ask questions and listen to concerns. I believe in outcomes, managing up and across, and empowering others’ successes first.
My work allows me to find newer, cooler ways to design and lead accessible and inclusive user interface initiatives for mobile, web applications, and websites for both consumers and the enterprise. Having the experience of working with some of the best minds in the business across disciplines, geographies, experience, and skillsets in continually evolving environments, I truly believe in creating the best human-centered experience.
I’ve studied and lived in various parts of India, tried different cuisines, learned about diverse cultures, and the rich heritage. I’ve started learning a classical Indian dance called Bharatnatyam to continue learning about Indian culture.
I graduated in Information and Digital design from National Institute of Design. During my Bachelor’s program in Graphic design I got fascinated by wayfinding and navigation in physical space and continued to explore it in the digital world by pursuing a Masters in Design.
I moved to the USA in 2014. Here I got the opportunity to work with diverse teams across disciplines, geographies, experience, and skillsets. Being surrounded by diversity this has made me learn more and grow faster as a designer and a person.
My abundant energy fuels me in the pursuit of many interests, hobbies, areas of study, and artistic endeavors. I’m a fast learner, able to pick up new skills and juggle different projects and roles with relative ease. I like to develop expertise in a number of areas over the course of my life and career.
